You are righteous, Lord , and your laws are right. The statutes you have laid down are righteous; they are fully trustworthy. My zeal wears me out, for my enemies ignore your words. Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and your servant loves them. Though I am lowly and despised, I do not forget your precepts. Your righteousness is everlasting and your law is true. Trouble and distress have come upon me, but your commands give me delight. Your statutes are always righteous; give me understanding that I may live. (Psalm 119:137-144 NIV)
1) unshakeable (v137-138)
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. (Romans 10:17 NIV)
Build your faith by relating, listen and to obey
-god is righteous, he will not lie
God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? (Numbers 23:19 NIV)
Do you know how the clouds hang poised, those wonders of him who has perfect knowledge? (Job 37:16 NIV)
The word of god correctly zeal in your life
2) unshakeable zeal
-God zeal never worn out
-Zeal of yours wore you out
-Know god word beyond knowing
-Knowing and obey
-knowing god intimately
3) unshakeable hope (v141-142)
-word of god never change
-word of God give you hope

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. -God's word give us unshakeable clarity in our current crisis and stress

Building Block for Victory

How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Praise be to you, Lord ; teach me your decrees. With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth. I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word. (Psalm 119:9-16 NIV)
1) Key for victorious living
-Live by God's Word
-Be a life long student and applicator of God's Word
-Be a personally acquainted with His Word
-Benefits of God's Word
>> resolving life's dilemmas,
>> wise decision making
>> true eternal values
-God word should be treasured dearly in our life
-it's provided resource and guidance
2) God's word aids victorious living (v9b-10)
I) when lived out daily (v9b)
Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. (John 14:23 NIV)
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22 NIV)
Key : Obedience to God's Word is a choice
II) when kept diligently (v10)
Intimacy with God and his word are linked intricately.
Be passionate for his Word
Living out His World and keeping His Scripture gives victory
bear responsibility in utilizing his word to fight temptation or to fight compromise
The chief official gave them new names: to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego. But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. (Daniel 1:7, 8 NIV)
3) Attitudes necessary for victorious living
-Living out God's Word and passionately pursuing his ways is a matter of the heart. Have the necessary heart attitudes and convictions to do so
I) let God's Word have prominence in our lives,
-can you be a spiritual
III) Treasured in our heart (v10-11)
1) see values in God words
But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7:14 NIV)
Rulers persecute me without cause, but my heart trembles at your word. (Psalm 119:161 NIV)
2) Desire not to Sin against God
-Reading and mediating god word, cleanses our inner being. Be familiar with his word
-when god's word is readily available in our minds And hearts, we are able to recall it in moments of temptation and need
I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread. (Job 23:12 NIV)
When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, Lord God Almighty. (Jeremiah 15:16 NIV)
4) continuous developments by study and application (v12-13)
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15 NIV)
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. (Matthew 13:44, 45 NIV)
Be teachable and personalize His Words
This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. (1 Corinthians 2:13 NIV)
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (John 16:13 NIV)
-Verbalise the Word (v13)
-Testify of the reality of God's Word
And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. (2 Timothy 2:2 NIV)
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 NIV)
-Being a student of the World helps turn the written word into the living Word in our hearts and leads us to the victory
5) Honouring God's word (v14-16)
-Vitalise God's Word (v14, v16)
- internalize Gods word (v15)
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8 NIV)
But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. (Luke 2:19 NIV)
